31 Mar Where The Magic Happens
When thinking of Orlando you automatically think of where the magic happens. In this case, thousands of people travel from different parts of the world to enjoy great music and good food instead of shaking hands with Mickey Mouse. With headlining artists like Fantasia, Plies, Goodie Mob, Lyfe Jennings, Babyface, the 69 Boyz, JT Money, Levelle, KowKow, and Pretti Emage. This epic magical music fest was worth the travel. After the tragic incidents in Florida last year these festival goers and residents deserve a spectacular show and some time to get loose. Music Fest Orlando is one of Florida’s biggest cultural experiences, bringing not only premiere acts but magical vibes for all to enjoy.
Along with these star-studded musical guests Music Fest Orlando also had some native musical talent. I had the opportunity to interview up-and-coming artists Arkeshia, Ashley Peck, Lolita, and The Don D’rel. This one-day event on Central Florida Fairgrounds was something that would surely be remembered. The festival’s impact on the community is what captures all hearts creating scholarship and internship opportunities for local Orlando natives. In addition to giving the community these life-changing opportunities, a portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the students attending HBCUs through the HBCU Initiative. The HBCU Initiative seeks to provide students in the Central Florida area with financial assistance to further their post-high school education.
I look forward to seeing this festival continue next year creating spaces for big talents on big stages.
